4-H Youth exhibit livestock at the 2024 Minnesota State Fair
FALCON HEIGHTS—4-H youth from across Minnesota again showcased their learning in the 4-H during the first four day of the Minnesota State Fair. Throughout the year, 4-H youth select project areas that reflect personal areas of interest and pursue hands-on learning in both self-directed and guided environments. The results of their learning are exhibited at county fairs and other showcase events across the state. A collection of the best exhibits from each fair and showcase are brought to the Minnesota State Fair. Exhibiting project work at the state fair provides youth an opportunity to showcase their achievements and continue learning through interactive judging with project experts and team experiences. The presentations, exhibits and presence of 4-H youth from diverse communities across Minnesota brought renewed and welcomed energy. Whit’s Craft In Downtown St. Cloud Decides To Close
ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- Another downtown St. Cloud business has decided to close. Whit's Craft has announced that Saturday will be their last day of operation. Owners Rob and Jean Hartley say downtown does not have enough traffic to sustain the business. They continued that they were excited about the revitalization of the downtown area when they opened in 2023 but it has just not developed and they are thankful to all of their employees and patrons.
St. Cloud Movie Theatres Revisited: Eastman and Hays Theatres
WJON is taking a look at former St. Cloud movie theaters. I am joined by Steve Penick and John Decker from the Stearns History Museum. The Eastman Theater was located at 21 2nd street south in St. Cloud. It opened in 1940, had seating of 464, it closed in 1967 and was since demolished.
