A new winery and lounge is preparing to open in Naples later this year, owner Jason James shared with Business Debut. The lounge will open at 990 1st Ave N, Naples, FL 34102, which is a 8,500-square-foot space formerly used as an appliance warehouse and showroom, James told Business Debut in a recent interview.
James and his wife, Leigh, are bringing the winery to Naples after careers in aviation. Formerly, Jason was a pilot and Leigh a flight attendant for American Airlines. The couple lived in Dundee, OR, in the heart of the state's wine country. It was there that their passion for Oregon and Northwestern wines was ignited.
According to James, around 90% of the wines produced in Oregon never leave the state. 7J7 Sky Lounge, however, will be bringing exclusive Oregon wine to Naples. "Our wine is made with the intention of taking you on a journey to Oregon," James said. In addition, they will offer charcuterie, canapé, tapas, caviar and other small bites that pair well with their wines. James described 7J7 Sky Lounge as being a perfect in-between place to visit before or after a full meal.
The expansive space will be a showcase of fine wines and airline themes – complete with 45' helicopter in the atrium and two planes suspended overhead. The two-story space will also feature destination rooms, like London, New York and others where people can bounce between the cities – much like airline crews.

Additionally, the space will have a piano bar and lounge for guests to enjoy live performances in the evenings.
Service will be the focal point of 7J7 Sky Lounge. James will model the business' service off of the old-style airline treatment. “It's all about service that doesn’t exist, but that existed in yesteryear in the airlines like Pan-Am, where service was everything. We'll have that without having to go through security," James said.
The 7J7 name comes from an airliner called the 7J7 that Boeing proposed. Ultimately, James said, Boeing chose 737, leaving the 7J7 name available to him.
Expect 7J7 Sky Lounge to soft open in November and grand open in December. James plans to operate Tuesday - Sunday from mid-afternoon until 10 pm or midnight, depending on the night.
