Chef Tony Tone is set to open Candee Lee's Soul House, one of the first black-owned fast-casual soul food restaurants in the area, this October at 8085 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL 34747.

Named in honor of Chef Tone's mother, Candee, the restaurant will offer a build-your-own-plate style of dining. The menu will feature soul food staples such as mac and cheese, collard greens, red beans and rice, oxtail, fried chicken and fried catfish. Chef Tone emphasized the use of fresh, organic produce in his cooking.

Chef Tone moved from Virginia to work as a chef for Disney, where he worked at Le Cellier in Epcot. During the pandemic, he transitioned to private chef work, Chef Tone said. His growing reputation in this field has led to the creation of Candee Lee's Soul House.

The restaurant will have minimal seating with 10-15 seats inside and 12 outside, focusing on fast-casual service, delivery and takeout. Family platters serving 2-4 people will be available, Chef Tone reported.

In a nod to his industry roots, Tone will offer a 10% discount to service industry workers, such as hospitality staff, nurses, teachers, firefighters, police officers and salon workers.
