Jon Stewart, post-ABC presidential debate, says Kamala Harris managed to bait Donald Trump on a particularly sore point — his rally crowd size.
    • Jon Stewart has weighed in on Kamala Harris' debate performance.
    • Stewart said Harris managed to hit Trump's "most cherished family member" — his rally crowd sizes.
    • Trump looked visibly furious after Harris' comment on his rally turnout.

Jon Stewart said that during the ABC primetime presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris managed to hit former President Donald Trump where it hurts .

"I'm going to invite you to attend one of Donald Trump's rallies," Harris said during their September 10 showdown.

"He will talk about 'windmills cause cancer.' And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion and boredom," Harris said.

"Folks, the eagle has landed," Stewart said, sitting next to a projection of a still image of Trump looking visibly angry after Harris' jab.

"She has attacked what is Donald Trump's most cherished family member — his rally crowds," Stewart said.

"The Daily Show" host then argued that Trump could have stayed on message. But that's not what Trump did .

Instead, the former president responded that he has "the biggest rallies." He then segued into a racist rant about Haitian immigrants eating pets in Ohio, a claim that ABC's moderators debunked on live TV.

"What the fuck just happened?" Stewart said of Trump's dog-eating claims.

Stewart then compared Trump to Abe Simpson, a character best known for being the subject of the "Old Man Yells at Cloud" meme.

When contacted for comment, Trump spokesman Steven Cheung told Business Insider that " Jon Stewart used to be relevant and mildly entertaining" but is now "bitter" and a "shell of a person he used to be."

"He suffers from a debilitating and devastating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has clearly rotted his brain and ruined his life to the point he has to compensate for his embarrassing inadequacies," Cheung added.

The Harris campaign now wants a second debate with Trump . For his part, Trump says he "wouldn't mind" facing off against Harris again — but he hasn't agreed to another debate date yet.

Representatives for Harris did not immediately respond to requests for comment from BI sent outside regular office hours.
