Some Butler employees say they're being harassed after assassination attempt

Some county and city employees in Butler say they're being threatened and harassed since the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Workers at or near the site of the Butler Farm Show say they are dealing with an endless barrage of calls, emails, threats and harassment from people blaming them for what happened.

Workers are also receiving praise in other emails.

A Butler Councilperson tells KDKA-TV that works in the Butler Township Municipal Building are facing harassment for something that had nothing to do with.

20-year-old Thomas Crooks, of Bethel Park, is accused of trying to assassinate Trump during a rally on Saturday in Butler County.

Snipers fatally shot Crooks, the man accused of shooting multiple people at the rally, including nicking the former President’s ear and murdering a local firefighter who was seated behind Trump on the stage.

Local law enforcement were the ones tasked with securing the areas outside of the rally perimeter during the rally that saw Donald Trump barely avoid being the victim of a fatal shooting.

The Secret Service told the Washington Post that it is not uncommon for them to utilize local police assets to help secure locations outside of the immediate area of rallies held by candidates for the Presidency.
