Four Emory hospitals ranked best in Georgia and Atlanta by U.S. News and World Report
ATLANTA – Four Emory Healthcare hospitals have ranked notably in this year’s regional rankings of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals issue. For the thirteenth year in a row, Emory University Hospital ranked as the No. 1 hospital in Georgia and metro Atlanta in the 2024-25 Best Regional Hospitals rankings. (Emory University Hospital includes Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital and Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods.)
Columbus Botanical Garden celebrates 25 years with new traveling exhibit
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM)— For its 25th anniversary, the Columbus Botanical Garden introduced its first-ever traveling exhibit, “Art of Nature, Walk on the Wild Side.”. The exhibit includes 12 large-scale animal topiaries made with moss, flowers, and foliage throughout the gardens, and CBG officials said guests will experience something new every time they come.

Storms take down trees, knock out power across CSRA
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An overnight thunderstorm knocked down trees and brought power outages early Tuesday across the CSRA. The National Weather Service said the storm was a microburst. A microburst is column of fast-moving sinking air that can cause destruction as the wind hits the ground and spreads in all directions.
With reopened golf course on hold, Columbia County neighborhood proposes new private pool
A Columbia County golf community, with its 18-hole golf course closed, is pivoting toward transforming its pool area into its No. 1 amenity. The Jones Creek Homeowners Association in Evans is asking Columbia County to grant new buffer and setback standards when it demolishes and rebuilds a pool house that residents say has become too small and isn’t up to code.

It appeared someone had driven through the neighborhood off Barnett Shoals Road and hit mailboxes, possibly with a baseball bat. At least five residents reported damage that ranged from a low of $50 to $500.

Tyson Foods has entered into an agreement to sell its poultry complex in Vienna, Georgia, to House of Raeford Farms, the company announced last week.
