PITTSBURGH (KDKA Radio 1020) – Several eyewitnesses called into NewsRadio KDKA Trump at the Butler Farm Show on Evans City Road in Butler.

From describing what happened the moment the shots rang out, to seeing the shooter on top of the metal building seconds before the shots killed a pair of spectators and injured Mr. Trump, in-person accounts from Saturday’s shooting.

“Everything was going great, everyone was having a good time and all of a sudden those gunshots, people hitting the floor, kids were crying,” said military veteran Despina Evans. “It was so real, the moment, to be in it. People scrambling, to see all the thousands of people there and children crying and the fear it put into people.”

“People were looking at each other saying ‘are you ok, are you ok’? The former President is he ok? There was a lot of worry in general, was anybody else hurt? It was nice to see that not everyone was into themselves, they wanted to help each other.”

“He was showing the Biden Administration border crossing (information) and all of a sudden you heard shots rang out,” said an eyewitness identified as Mark. “He didn’t go down quick at first, until the Secret Service, man, they were on top of him.”

“We all ducked for cover, at first I don’t think people wanted to believe there was a shooting that occurred.”

“When the pops starting going off within a matter of seconds, thousands of
people were just dropping to the ground,” said eyewitness Mike Evans. “People just swarmed out of the place by the thousands. The Secret Service were asking people to leave, saying it was unsafe to be there. People were running out, babies were crying and people saying they thought President Trump was shot.”

“You could see the emotion and fear in people’s eyes as they were leaving, and actually their concerns for President Trump.”

“We were in the back and the crowd started to say ‘gun, gun, gun’,” said an eyewitness named Scott. “A cop looked up and there was someone up on the roof of that building and we started running because the police starting yelling at him and then you heard ‘pop, pop’. Then you heard about six shots after that. It was like the guy took two shots and the rest of the shots were going at him.”

“It was a tough shot, you had to shoot through the corner of the grandstand in order to shoot Trump in the head,” said Dave, who identified himself as a former police officer. “I think the guy probably bounced a couple of shots off the metal rails of the grandstand. I think that’s why you saw the civilian get shot and killed. I would say it was 75 yards away with a tough line of sight. That’s probably why Trump survived. It was a tough shot.”
