Three things to do in Butte County this weekend
CHICO — Here are three ways to enjoy yourself this weekend in Butte County. Oroville’s Show and Stroll event takes place from 5-8 p.m. Friday in downtown Oroville. This is a free event and includes a vintage car and motorcycle show with music played by 1950s rock and roll band the Ragtop Rockers. The Show and Stroll takes place on the third Friday of every month through October.
Former Gridley teacher sentenced to 4 years for sexual relationship with student
OROVILLE, Calif. — Former Gridley teacher Michelle Solis, who had sex with a 14-year-old student, was back in Butte County Superior Court Thursday afternoon for sentencing. BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. — An Oroville man has been arraigned in court after illegally wandering into the area of the Thompson Fire, which is closed to the public at this time. Authorities say the suspect was being detained and fled from police while handcuffed on the day of his arrest.
