Cancer survivors to be honored and celebrated on Tuesday
There will be an event, Spike Out Cancer, to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer, starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Tegels Park. According to the Minnesota Department of Health, in a tally done five years ago, there are over 250,000 cancer survivors alive in the state.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVES, NEED IS URGENT
Blood donations tend to drop over the busy summer months. Sue Thesenga with the American Red Cross is asking you to roll up a sleeve this month and give the gift of life. She says there is an urgent need for Type-O blood donations right now. The bloodmobile is taking donations today (Wednesday) from 10-4 at Springfield High School. Thursday donations will be taken at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville from 1 – 7 and at First Presbyterian Church in St. James Thursday from noon to 6 and Friday from 8 to noon.
