911 call centers back online in MN after outages
MINNEAPOLIS — Call centers are coming back online after a global Microsoft outage knocked out 911 for counties across the nation Friday morning. Companies that use Microsoft have been affected by the outages across the world starting Thursday night and persisting into Friday morning. Many people are stuck in airport lines or stranded at their destination temporarily as airlines race to get planes back in the air.
BE OKs Three Sisters demolition
The Blue Earth City Council voted to proceed with demolition of the Three Sisters buildings in downtown Blue Earth during their meeting last Monday night, July 15. The decision was made to accept one of six bids for the demolition. That bid was from G&S Excavating of Blue Earth and was in the amount of $164,800.

Pirates win final regular season game
The Blue Earth Pirates wrapped up their regular season with three games in five days, defeating Cleveland and Waseca while dropping a game against Minnesota Lake. The 13/60 League playoffs began on Saturday, July 20, with the second-seeded Pirates playing the No. 3-seeded Wells Wildcats in Wells. Although the game was originally set to be played in Blue Earth, the contest was moved to Wells because of the expected large turnout for the races at the Golden Spike Speedway in Blue Earth that day.
No wake restriction lifted in Le Sueur County, except Washington
The lakes listed here have receded to the no wake restriction threshold and have maintained and/or continued to recede for three consecutive days. As of Saturday, July 20, the no wake restriction has been lifted on the following Le Sueur County Lakes: Gorman Lake; Lake Sakatah; Lake Tetonka; West Jefferson; Lake Emily; Middle Jefferson; East Jefferson; German Lake; Lake Francis; Rays Lake; Lake Volney. A no wake restriction will remain in effect for Lake Washington, as water levels have not yet receded to the threshold level. "No wake" is defined as operation of a watercraft at the slowest speed possible to maintain steerage, but in no case greater than 5 mph. The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office will continually monitor lake levels and will issue notice on our Facebook Page as soon as the restriction is lifted.
Mankato motorcyclist hurt in Friday evening crash
MANKATO, Minn. – A motorcyclist crashed in southern Minnesota on Friday evening. The Minnesota State Patrol says Shawn Lee Ward, 39 of Mankato, was riding a 2009 Harley Davidson FXDF Cruiser north on Highway 169. The State Patrol says Ward tried to take the onramp to eastbound Highway 14 around 8:07 pm and lost control of his bike.
