Jordan Chiles Has Issued A Short Statement After Being Stripped Of Her Bronze Medal At The 2024 Olympics

Jordan Chiles is speaking out after being stripped of her bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris , France .

In case you missed it, Jordan medaled in the womens' floor final in gymnastics earlier this week.

Initially, Jordan earned a 13.666 score for her routine, placing her behind Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu — but her score was increased to 13.766 upon appeal, placing her in the third position and earning her the bronze.

As the Washington Post reports, the Romanian federation filed its own appeal against Jordan's appeal, and the Olympics' Court of Arbitration eventually decided that Jordan's appeal was filed after the one-minute deadline stipulated to request an inquiry — effectively reversing her win and awarding Ana with the bronze.

The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee said in a statement earlier today that it plans to appeal the decision — and now Jordan is speaking out as well.

"I am taking this time and removing myself from social media for my mental health thank you," Jordan said in a statement posted to her IG Story .
