Like any other employees, actors are expected to act professionally. Sometimes, however, they leave their costars with a bad taste in their mouth.

Here are 15 times actors name-dropped their worst costars:

    1. In 2014, Freddie Prinze Jr . told ABC News , "I did 24 . It was terrible. I hated every moment of it. Kiefer [Sutherland] was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That's not me talking trash, I'd say it to his face. I think everyone that's worked with him has said that. I just wanted to quit the business after that. So, I just sort of stopped."

He continued, "I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE, for Christ's sake, and it was a crazier job than working with Kiefer. But, at least, he was cool and tall. I didn't have to take my shoes off to do scenes with him, which they made me do. Just put the guy on an apple box, or don't hire me next time. You know I'm 6 feet and he's 5'4."

    2. In 2016, Diane Kruger told BuzzFeed that her Troy costar Peter O'Toole "wasn't very pleasant."

She said, "It kind of sucked. He's dead, so I can say that. But he wasn't the most pleasant person."

    3. In 2020, Samantha Marie Ware replied to a tweet her Glee costar Lea Michele made about the death of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement. Samantha said, "LMAO REMEMBER WHEN YOU MADE MY FIRST TELEVISON GIG A LIVING HELL?!?! CAUSE ILL NEVER FORGET. I BELIEVE YOU TOLD EVERYONE THAT IF TOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY YOU WOULD 'SHIT IN MY WIG!' AMONGST OTHER TRAUMATIC MICROAGRESSIONS THAT MADE ME QUESTION A CAREER IN HOLLYWOOD."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=40DnEi_0uw1zQAg00

Fellow Glee costar Alex Newell tweeted , "I’m gonna say this one time... when my friends goes through something traumatic I also go through it... that’s what friendship is... and if you can’t understand that then you’re part of the problem... and that’s on PERIODT! And I mean that for both sides of this coin!"

    4. On a 2023 episode of her podcast Bitch Sesh , Casey Wilson said that her The Santa Clauses costar Tim Allen was "such a bitch" to work with. She also said it was the "worst, truly single worst experience [she's] ever had with a costar ever."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=28gP3H_0uw1zQAg00

She said, "[In our scene]  I'm supposed to throw things at him. He's coming down the chimney, obviously as Santa. And I am woken up thinking there's an intruder — basically like a home invasion scene...I basically hear him — he goes, 'You gotta tell her to stop stepping on my lines.' The producer turns to me with horror on his face and has to walk one foot to me, and he goes, 'Tim would ask that you stopped stepping on his lines.'"

She also alleged he was "so fucking rude" to her post-filming and "never made eye contact, never said anything."

    5. In an Instagram story ahead of the release of her 2024 memoir Rebel Rising , Rebel Wilson alleged that an "asshole" celebrity was "trying to threaten" her over a chapter and "trying to stop press coming out about [her] new book." The next day, she revealed the "asshole" in question was her The Brothers Grimsby costar Sacha Baron Cohen.

In 2014, Rebel reportedly told The Kyle & Jackie O Show , "Sacha is so outrageous. Every single day, he's like, 'Rebel, can you just go naked in this scene?' And I'm like, 'No!' Sacha and I have the same agent in America, and I'm like, 'Sacha, I'm going to call our agent Sharon and tell her how much you are harassing me.' Every day, he's like, 'Just go naked, it will be funny. Remember in Borat when I did that naked scene? It was hilarious.' On the last day, I thought I'd obviously won the argument, and he got a body double to do the naked scene. Then in the last scene ... he was like, 'Rebel, can you just stick your finger up my butt?' And I went, 'What do you mean, Sacha? That's not in the script.' And he's like, 'Look, I'll just pull down my pants, you just stick your finger up my butt, it'll be a really funny bit.'... You don't wanna be a diva, so I ... said, 'I'll slap you once on the butt, and that's it.'"

In a 2024 statement, Sacha told Variety , "While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during, and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby ."

    6. In 2000, Lucy Liu stood up to Bill Murray on the Charlie's Angels set, and in 2021, the resurfaced story went viral. She told the Los Angeles Times' Asian Enough podcast, "As we're doing the scene, Bill starts to sort of hurl insults, and I won't get into the specifics, but it kept going on and on. I was like, 'Wow, he seems like he's looking straight at me.' I couldn't believe that [the comments] could be towards me, because what do I have to do with anything majorly important at that time? I literally do the look-around-my-shoulder thing, like, who is he talking to behind me? I say, 'I'm so sorry. Are you talking to me?' And clearly he was, because then it started to become a one-on-one communication."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0rxWpH_0uw1zQAg00

She continued, "Some of the language was inexcusable and unacceptable, and I was not going to just sit there and take it. So, yes, I stood up for myself, and I don’t regret it. Because no matter how low on the totem pole you may be or wherever you came from, there’s no need to condescend or to put other people down. And I would not stand down, and nor should I have."

The moment had a profound impact on some of the other people present. She continued, "I remember years later, maybe even decades later, some crew members that I didn’t even know at the time came up to me on other sets and told me that they were there at the time and they were really grateful that I did that. I have nothing against Bill Murray at all. I’ve seen him since then at a SNL reunion, and he came up to me and was perfectly nice. But I’m not going to sit there and be attacked."

    7. In his 2014 memoir Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography , Neil Patrick Harris reportedly called his Purple People Eater costar Dustin Diamond "one of the more unpleasant people in show business."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1ci2xU_0uw1zQAg00

Neil also said Dustin seemingly went "out of his way to offend pretty much every person he comes across."

    8. In 2016, Viola Davis told Entertainment Weekly that her Suicide Squad costar Jared Leto — who stayed in character as the Joker — gifted her a box of bullets. She said, "It was a little worrisome. It made you a little bit nervous, and I'm pretty tough. You know, I got into a few fights when I was growing up…but it scared me a little bit."

She also said she didn't meet the "real" Jared until filming wrapped.

She said, "Before that, I was only introduced to the Joker…and I almost had my pepper spray out. You know, 'You remember that bullet you sent me?'"

    9. In 2007, Tyrese Gibson told Elle , "[My Annapolis costar] James Franco is a Method actor. I respect Method actors, but he never snapped out of character. Whenever we'd have to get in the ring for boxing scenes, and even during practice, the dude was full-on hitting me. I was always like, 'James, lighten up, man. We're just practicing.' He never lightened up."

In 2008, James told GQ , "I take full blame for any problems on that film. If he had a bad experience working with me, I was probably a jerk. I was not purposely cruel to him, but I was probably so wrapped up in my performance that I was not as friendly as I could have been. This is such a stupid issue. I can't believe I'm still talking about it. But when I'm asked about it in the press, it makes it seem as if it's still an issue. I think Tyrese is a sweet guy with a good heart. I wish him all the best."

    10. In 2018, Alice Wetterlund tweeted , "I hope to not ruin it for you, but [my Silicon Valley costar] TJ Miller was a bully and petulant brat and pretty much everyone who had any power on that (almost all male) set, including the male cast members, enabled him and were complicit in his unprofessionalism. They can fuck off forever."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0zhvJh_0uw1zQAg00

In a follow-up tweet , she added, "I'm pretty open about this, and I don't know if other women on the show had a different experience than me, but it was kind of a nightmare."

On the Jim Norton & Sam Roberts show, T.J. said, "She may have had that experience, but it's people trying to enter the headlines and get into the media cycle. It was not my experience that anyone was bullying her or being mean to her."

In a statement , an HBO spokesperson said, "While this is the first time we have heard Alice Wetterlund comment on her experiences on Silicon Valley , we are disappointed to learn of her concerns. HBO and the producers have always taken very seriously our responsibility to create a welcoming and congenial environment for everyone who works on the show."

In 2017, T.J. Miller was accused of sexual assault.

    11. On Community , Chevy Chase reportedly made frequent attempts to disrupt Donald Glover's scenes by making racial jokes out of jealousy. In 2018, Donald told the New Yorker , "I don't even worry about it. I just saw Chevy as fighting time — a true artist has to be okay with his reign being over. I can't help him if he's thrashing in the water. But I know there's a human in there somewhere — he's almost too human."

    12. Appearing on the radio show No Filter Neha in 2020, Taapsee Pannu reportedly said one of her worst co-stars was Jacqueline Fernandez. She said, "She has [a] so freaking hot body because I was struggling to match up to her in Judwaa 2. "

She continued, "I was just like I just hope that I don’t put myself to shame."

    13. On No Filter Neha , Taapsee Pannu also name-dropped her Manmarziyaan and Dunki costar Vicky Kaushal as one of her worst costars.

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3aXp52_0uw1zQAg00

She said, "I am always so conscious that I should not lose out to him in a scene because he is just so good."

    14. In 1993, Julia Roberts told the New York Times her I Love Trouble costar Nick Nolte was "completely disgusting." She said, "He's going to hate me for saying this, but he seems [to] go out of his way to repel people. He's a kick."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2lJypD_0uw1zQAg00

"From the moment I met him, we sort of gave each other a hard time, and naturally, we get on each other's nerves," she added.

    15. And finally, in 2017, Kim Cattrall called out her Sex and the City costar Sarah Jessica Parker amidst the cancellation of SATC 3 . On the ITV series Life Stories , she told Piers Morgan, "I don't feel like a victim. I feel like I came out of this on top. This has given me a fantastic platform. Sarah Jessica, she could have been nicer, she could have in some way. I don't know what her issue is. I never have."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4csIZI_0uw1zQAg00

The two actors have a longstanding feud.

In 2018, Kim called out Sarah for expressing sympathy over the death of Kim's brother in an Extra interview. On Instagram , Kim said, "I don't need your love or support at this tragic @sarahjessicaparker...My Mom asked me today 'When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?' Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now. Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona."

In 2022, Sarah told The Hollywood Reporter 's Awards Chatter podcast, "It’s very hard to talk about the situation with Kim." She also said it's not a "catfight" and "there has been one person talking."

She also said, "I've spent a lot of years working really hard to always be decent to everybody on the set, to take care of people, to be responsible to and for people, both my employers and the people that I feel I'm responsible for as a producer of the show. And there just isn't anyone else who’' ever talked about me this way."
