Everyone has those pet peeves that, while perfectly normal or socially acceptable to others, just get under their skin. Whether it's people who overshare on social media, people who bump into others in the street because they're so distracted texting, or passengers who get up as soon as the plane lands and then crowd the entire aisle, these little things can be surprisingly irritating.

Recently, Reddit user spacewalkerstarfield wanted to know about those pet peeves when they asked : "What’s a social habit everyone seems to accept but you find really annoying?"

"Thank you! My SIL films and photographs every get-together, scanning the people and narrating: 'Here we are at the big birthday party, and here’s Billy, Timmy, and Sarah…' Like, who TF is going to watch that drivel?!"

"Grown adults on the bus playing annoying games. Like, can I get a moment of silence, please?"

    5. "People who stop in the middle of a busy walkway to check their phones. It's like they think they've hit pause on the world."

    NotBeginningAnew

"I really don't understand this behavior. If I need to look at my phone or stop for any other reason, I will 'park' by moving out of the flow of fellow pedestrians and finding somewhere out of the way.

The same goes for shopping with a cart. If I need to stop to pick something up, I'll move to the side of the aisle; I won't push or pull the cart at an angle or otherwise make it difficult for other customers to do their shopping.

It seems like a no-brainer in either situation and common courtesy, yet so few people do it."

    6. "At the airport, people who stand blocking the baggage carousel as if they are the only ones that need to get their bags. Selfish f*cks. Also, those families of 4–6-plus who walk down the concourse slowly, shoulder-to-shoulder, blocking people trying to get to their gates. I’ve learned that there are two types of people in the world: those who take only as much as they need and those who take as much as they can."

    7. "Tipping everywhere! I don't mind tipping the server who serves me, but I hate the guilt trap of tipping the person who pours my black coffee into a cup."

"Particularly when it's an order at a counter establishment😩. I understand the tip screen is part of the software, but I drove myself over here and stood in line. Y’all should be tipping ME."

"This is an acquaintance of mine. She’s late for everything with pretty much no reason, but God forbid you’re a few minutes late to something she plans — she’ll whine about it to no end. Hence why she’s an acquaintance."

    9. "Filming at a concert. Nothing looks dumber than when you're standing still, cell phone in the air, trying to hold it steady while filming the band/singer. I'm sorry, but when you watch that later you know it's going to be garbage. Concerts are special moments that are not to be repeated. Just stay in the GD moment and put your phone down. It's going to be okay."

    LushStellarNebula47

"My mom does this, and now that I think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen her talk without speakerphone. It’s always embarrassing when I invite her out somewhere, I have to tell her it’s loud and to take it off speaker."

    11. "People standing like sardines in line. It doesn't get us there any faster! I miss the Covid six-foot personal bubble :(."

    12. "Being expected to be constantly available via social media, chat, text, and call at any and all hours. If you try to 'opt-out,' it’s seen as weird or antisocial."

"Came here to say this. I’m burnt out of being readily available to people and basically just ignore everyone now."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3ZFiTW_0v1cGhRT00

    Mamanbanane

"On this subject: FaceTiming while DRIVING. I see this crap all the time. Phone in one hand, you can see who they’re talking to, their other hand on the wheel, and NOT paying attention to the fact they are steering thousands of pounds down the wrong side of the street. Get. Off. Your. F'ing. Phone. Asshat."

    14. "Bringing your fucking dog everywhere, including in stores!!! And I freaking love dogs , but come on. Don’t just assume they can come to social gatherings."

    ThatQuail3

"Bringing dogs (pets/fake service dogs, not legitimate trained ones) into stores, restaurants, etc. They have zero consideration for other people, especially those who may be allergic. You don't see people taking their cats everywhere."

    15. "Bringing extra people (whom I don’t know) to a meal without asking."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2skppl_0v1cGhRT00

    factfarmer

"I can’t f'ing stand this. When you make plans with somebody, and you think it’s just going to be you and them, then they decide to bring other people into the equation…it bothers me so much. I wish it didn’t, but it does."

    16. "Putting down every thing on the internet. A movie just came out? Sucks. New music just dropped? Sucks. Someone made some food? Sucks. Celebrity had a bad day and yelled at someone? Sucks, and they should lose their career . There is nothing positive on the internet now. Everything 'sucks!' And if you do happen to enjoy something, some shithead will certainly try to break you down over it."

"My friend does this a lot. She’ll send me a whole storybook on the phone — in LONG paragraphs — but as soon as we are in public together, she can forget I was even there!"
