After Fans Accused Him Of Being “Shady,” A Report Denied That Alex Rodriguez’s Cryptic Instagram Post Was About Jennifer Lopez’s Divorce

On Tuesday, the singer filed for divorce from Ben Affleck after two years of marriage.

A source told People that the pointed timing “speaks a ton.”
According to numerous reports , Jen filed without an attorney, and she and Ben do not have a prenup.

The divorce filing came after months of speculation that Ben and J.Lo were facing marital issues. And amidst all the reactions online, it seemed that Jen’s ex, Alex Rodriguez , may have subtly commented on the news, too.

For context, Jen and Alex started dating in early 2017 and were engaged by March 2019. However, they split before getting married — announcing they were “better as friends” in a joint statement in April 2021.

In response , the former New York Yankees player kept things brief, saying: “It was a good experience and I wish her and the children — who are smart and beautiful and wonderful — I wish them the very best.”

Fast-forward to today, and, per People , Alex took to Instagram on Tuesday after J.Lo’s divorce filing to share a cryptic message about change and moving on.

The timing of the post quickly sparked speculation that Alex — who is dating fitness instructor Jaclyn Cordeiro — was reacting to Jen and Ben’s split, with users on X calling out the seemingly “shady” move.

“i never knew he was that kind of ig girlie,” joked another user .
The message about “deciding the direction” of your life also seemed to echo insider claims that J.Lo filed for divorce from Ben because she was “done waiting.” “It’s good that she did it,” a source told People , suggesting she’s taken “control of the process.”

However, as fans were accusing A-Rod of being a messy ex, a source quickly informed People that his cryptic post had “nothing to do” with J.Lo and Ben.
