People Are Literally Sobbing Over Will Ferrell's Documentary About Discovering His Good Friend Is Trans

I can't tell you that "Wake Up and Cry to a Will Ferrell Netflix Documentary Trailer" was on my to-do list today, but viewers, it was, and I did.

Will Ferrell is releasing a new Netflix documentary about his close-friend Harper Steele coming out as trans.

Harper and Will met back in his SNL days, where Will acted, and Harper eventually became head writer.

The two worked together for a number of years and became very close friends, and then one day, somewhat recently, Will got an email from Harper saying she was trans.

Will asks Harper to go on a cross-country road trip to discover what this all means, and bam, that's the documentary: Will & Harper .

People are pointing out how big of a deal this is.

"Will Ferrell being a huge visible ally to trans people is cool as fuck because sooooo many straight boys I know idolize him and quote his movies constantly," this person said.

"This film could save trans lives. Will Ferrell is a saint," another person said.

Ultimately, I'm with this person: "Will Ferrell deciding to educate himself and others as well as supporting and loving Harper unconditionally when she came out to him really puts some other comedians to shame, huh."

Will & Harper comes out in select theaters in September and on Netflix September 27.
