There's at least one thing we deal with daily that makes our lives harder for no apparent reason. So when Reddit user u/AVeryBadMon asked , "What's a daily inconvenience that you still can't believe hasn't been solved?" a lot of people had opinions on the matter. Here's what they said below.

    1. "Not having zipper-lock bags inside cereal boxes."

"If you’re poor, all your cereal ever comes in is a giant resealable bag, lol."

    2. "Why do printers so reliably not print?"

    3. "The buildup that happens in lotion/soap pumps of a hardened product. You go to use the product and that buildup acts as a stopper until the pressure pushes it loose and also shoots a stream of lotion/shampoo/whatever across the room."

"Usually, somehow upwards and into your face or all over black clothing."

    4. "Successfully cleaning the inside of a windshield. What's up with that science?"

    u/FalstaffsMind

    5. "Dust accumulation. I don't need AI in everything, I need a gadget that would suck dust particles from the air before they get to settle on every surface at home."

    6. "I'd really like it if Google and YouTube would stop asking me if I want to sign in. Just let me look up whatever it is, and leave me alone! If I wanted to be signed in, I would've done it already! All it does is annoy me when they randomly ask while I'm trying to do something."

"I wish they'd get rid of that AI feature or at least let you turn it off. I would rather get my info from actual sources than whatever garbage their AI cooks up."

    u/butterflyempress

    7. "Mammograms. There’s got to be a way to invent a mammogram machine that doesn’t squeeze your breasts in a clamp so tight that you feel you might pass out. It’s like a medieval torture device. Surely, with all the technology now, they could find something less painful."

"Yes, and the same for paps, colposcopies, etc. There’s GOT to be a better way!"

    8. "Unsynchronized traffic lights."

    u/Prestigious-Wall5616

    9. "Junk mail, robocalls, spam emails, wasteful communication of all sorts. I feel like this is something a trained AI could deal with pretty easily. I have no idea how we've progressed this far with junk, not even nefarious junk, just communication that's absolutely unnecessary."

    10. "Why insurance companies are allowed to increase premiums if you use the service you pay the premium for."

    u/False_Grape1326

"Yep, huge scam. So they pay out $500 for a claim and then raise my premium by $50/mo the next year. I might as well have just paid that $500 out of pocket; then, it would have saved me money to do so."

    u/[deleted]

    11. "Elevators need an option to press a floor button a second time to cancel. The open and close buttons should be color-coded red and green. In a split second that it takes for my brain to process the symbols it’s too late to open the door, and I look like a prick."

    12. "Self-cleaning toilets."

    u/twinWaterTowers

"I was at a friend’s studio apartment in Tokyo once — the smallest apartment I have ever seen — and the bathroom had something like a ship’s door on it, and you could crank it shut and lock it and put it on self-cleaning mode. The entire bathroom appeared to be made out of a single sheet of molded plastic, similar to what 'bathfitters' will do to your tub and shower, but imagine it also covering the toilet, sink, floors, walls, and ceiling. It kind of skewed me out to have the inside of the toilet be a contiguous surface with the sink and shower. But self-cleaning!"

    u/hilarymeggin

    13. "Itchiness. It’s so unpleasant. Medications are usually ineffective. Itching until you break the skin can introduce infections. In pets and children, it has to be managed post-surgery, not by correcting the itchiness, which is not possible, but instead by limiting the child or pet’s ability to scratch it. It can keep you awake at night. It can make you miserable."

    14. "The herd of elephants that live in the apartment above me."

    u/ammatume

    15. "There has to be a better way to package flour."

    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4BqvQl_0vaiLDSU00

    u/_bunnycorcoran

"For real, I can't tell you how many times the flour I got straight from the store has had weevils because they can get in the paper bag."

    16. "Menopause. I know technically you can't solve it, but I can't believe the medical community hasn't figured out how to relieve symptoms at least."

    u/TeacherLady3

    17. And finally, "Side effects from medication for a condition that are the same as some symptoms of the condition."
