The 2024 Olympics is sadly over, but lucky for us, there are a handful of athletes still living in people’s minds rent-free thanks to their hilarious viral moments. Here are a few of the best:

1. Yusuf Dikeç, aka The Iconic Turkish Sharpshooter

My timeline is absolutely obsessed with Yusuf, and has been since he rocked up to the sharpshooting event with no specialist equipment, did his iconically nonchalant pose, and won silver. Chef’s kiss.

2. Kim Ye-ji, aka The Stylish South Korean Sharpshooter

3. Anthony Ammirati, aka *That* French Pole Vaulter

Anthony went viral after he missed the pole and knocked it down with his... package . Speaking about the mega-viral moment afterwards, he said , “It’s a big disappointment.” 👀

4. B-Girl Raygun, aka The Australian Breakdancer

I’m obsessed with all the memes that have stemmed from this iconic performance from Raygun, real name Rachael Gunn. Incredible, no notes.

5. Zhou Yaqin, aka The Gymnast Who Bit Her Medal

Zhou, the gymnast who won silver for China, appeared confused when Italian gymnasts Alice D'Amato and Manila Esposito bit their gold and bronze medals in line with their tradition. And so, after glancing over, Zhou adorably gave her own medal a tentative bite in front of the cameras.

6. Henrik Christiansen, aka The Muffin Man

Norwegian swimmer Henrik became absolutely obsessed — and I mean, obsessed — with the chocolate muffins provided at the Olympic Village. Like, they became his whole brand.

7. Stephen Nedoroscik, aka Pommel Horse Clark Kent

As soon as Steve took off those glasses, no one stood a chance. The US athlete helped the men’s team win bronze in the all-around and won bronze in the individual pommel horse, which is often deemed the most challenging apparatus across men’s gymnastics.

Thanks to Steve, Team USA got their second pommel horse individual medal in 40 years!

8. Gabriel Medina, aka The Floating Surfer

Lastly, this incredible photo of Gabriel seemingly floating mid-air with his surfboard behind him caught the attention of several internet users. The Brazilian surfer scored 9.9, earning the highest single-wave score in Olympic history.
