Page Six had just confirmed that Cardi had made the legal filing and was seeking primary custody of her and Offset’s two children, 6-year-old Kulture and 2-year-old Wave, when Cardi shared her exciting news on Instagram.
Posting a series of photos of herself cradling a baby bump, Cardi wrote: “With every ending comes a new beginning!”

And this month, the star decided to mark her pregnancy with a maternity photoshoot , which she also shared to her Instagram page.
In the photos , Cardi’s growing bump is exposed as she poses in a leather trench coat, push-up bra, and thigh-high leather boots while sitting on a motorbike.
“I wanna meet my little boo boo soo bad already 🥺” she wrote in the caption, but followers were more interested in the background of the photo.
For context, Cardi is posing in front of what appears to be a garage door that is covered in graffiti.
While the most stand-out bit of street art is the word “Homesick” in yellow and blue paint, eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that the word “pedophile” is written on top of it in white paint.

Needless to say, people were floored to see such an inappropriate word in a maternity shoot, and flocked to the post’s comment section to question what was going on.
“Why take a picture in front of graffiti that says pedophile???” one person asked. Somebody else echoed: “Having the word ‘pedophile’ in your maternity shoot is so weird.”
“Not a pregnancy photoshoot in front of the ‘P*DOPHILE’ graffiti. Girl… 🤦🏻♀️” one more wrote.
And the photos caused a similar stir when the popular X account Pop Crave tweeted them on Monday.While the account did not acknowledge the controversial background in their tweet, which simply reads: “Cardi B looks gorgeous in new photos from her pregnancy shoot,” fans immediately noticed it.
“Why does it say pedophile in the back wtf???” the top reply asks , with a popular quote-tweet adding : “Wow it really says pedophile in the background.”

As the discourse around the shoot grew, Cardi took to her own social media account to explain what had happened, insisting that the graffiti was a total mistake due to time constraints.
The star issued her response as she quote-tweeted a now-deleted post that read: “It’s a little weird to have a term like in the background for a maternity shoot, don’t you think?”
“First of all we literally picked a random street because paparazzi was hounding us everywhere.. this was supposed to be my original first picture and we had to edit the photos in minutes because the shoot got leaked,” Cardi began. “Didn’t even have time to go over every detail because people were busy trying to expose my pregnancy as ‘aha’ moment…”
She then hit back at speculation that the maternity background was in any way intentional, adding: “Second I’m ALWAYS with the shits but I’m not using MY MATERNITY shoot to be funny. Are you dumb??”
Despite the wildly inappropriate oversight, the maternity photos remain live on Cardi’s Instagram account.
