    This article discusses alcohol abuse.

Almost three years after going sober, Tom Holland has launched his own alcohol-free beer brand.

The brand is called Bero and is described on social media as a “premium, non-alcoholic beer created by Tom.” It launches this week, on Oct. 16.

Tom’s decision to create this brand comes after he previously opened up about being “addicted to alcohol” before he decided to get sober.

During a 2023 appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, Tom, 28, said that giving up drinking alcohol was the hardest thing he ever did.

“I decided to just give up for January...and all I could think about was having a drink. It was all I could think about,” he recalled. “I was waking up thinking about it, I was checking the clock...and it just really scared me.”

Tom said that he initially felt like he “couldn’t be social” when he wasn’t drinking. However, he remained sober and eventually noticed a huge, positive shift in his well-being.

“I could sleep better, I could handle problems better — things that would go wrong on set that would normally set me off, I could take in my stride,” he said.

Tom also reflected on how he would previously “drink and drink and drink and drink” when he was consuming alcohol, which always led to him waking up with “a terrible headache” the following day.

“I just sort of said to myself, ‘Why am I enslaved to this drink? Why am I so obsessed by the idea of having this drink?’” he told Jay Shetty. “I’m happy to say it — I was definitely addicted to alcohol, not shying away from that at all.”

With this in mind, several fans jumped to Tom’s defense on X (formerly Twitter) this week after his alcohol-free beer brand sparked some negative reactions .

Several users shared clips from Tom’s appearance on Jay Shetty’s podcast to remind others of his past comments on his sobriety. Meanwhile, others expressed how “proud” they are of Tom for launching a brand closely aligned with his personal life .

“He’s doing it for people struggling with alcoholism which he also struggled with,” one person posted . “Hell yeah. Super proud of him trying to help those that are in the same fight he was,” someone else wrote .

“the discourse about non-alcoholic beverages is always so frustrating. if you don’t understand it or want it, guess what? you don’t have to drink it????” one more user tweeted in response to the backlash Tom received.

These supportive tweets are so refreshing to read. I love this for Tom; with so many celebs launching booze lines, it’s nice to see an openly sober actor market something alcohol-free. Can you think of any more celebrities who have launched alcohol-free brands? If so, drop names down below in the comments.

I love to drink beer, but not for the taste. If I drink it, I intend to get a buzz. If not I will drink a coke.
