Man sentenced for off-campus party shooting that hurt UK students
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - One of the men charged in a UK fraternity party shooting has been sentenced. Jason Almanza-Arroyo was sentenced to nine years on Friday. Police say he fired shots at a UK fraternity party in the fall of 2022. One student was shot, and 10 others were hurt by shrapnel.
UK season tickets at Rupp Arena to see an increase beginning next season
LEXINGTON, Ky. (KT) — For the first time in five years, season tickets for season ticket holders at Rupp Arena will see an increase. Seats located in the lower bowl, chairbacks and selected bleacher areas in the upper arena will increase beginning next season. According to the University of Kentucky athletics department, 13 percent of season ticket holders won’t see a rise in ticket prices, while 64 percent will see a five percent increase. Seven percent of the season-ticket holders will see prices rise 25 percent or more and 16 percent will see their tickets rise 12 percent beginning this season.
Dosker Manor residents without power for more than 20 hours
One of Dosker Manor's three buildings lost power around 4 p.m. Thursday, and it remained off until mid-Friday, leaving residents without air conditioning and electricity for more than 20 hours.
