Bartlett-based company's eclipse glasses make it to the final round of 'Coolest Thing Made in TN' 2024 contest
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Bartlett-based company's eclipse glasses are in the final round of the "Coolest Thing Made in Tennessee" 2024 contest. The Tennessee Chamber and Tennessee Manufacturers Association(TMA), partnered with the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services, Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association and Smart Factory Institute Tennessee to launch the contest.

State offering $2 million in grants for historic restoration/rehab projects
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Historical Commission announced a new grant to help cover the cost of restoring National Register-listed historic properties in the state. Overall, $2 million is available from the Historic Property/Land Acquisition Fund (HPLAF) Grant Program this year. Applications are open now through Aug. 31. The grants are competitive and can be used for historic restoration or rehabilitation projects for National Register-listed properties that have a public benefit. ...

Renew Clinic hosted its third annual fundraiser, Shining Light in the Darkness, on July 18, 2024, at the Foundry, with over 200 attendees to celebrate. During this unprecedented occasion, Williamson College President Dr. Ed Smith delivered a message of hope for graduates to earn college credit for completing Renew Clinic’s 12-week program and a 50% scholarship for graduates and their family members at Williamson College. Last week during devotions at the Clinchfield Senior Adult Center we talked about forgiveness. I often ask myself what does it truly mean to forgive someone? Forgiveness isn’t an easy thing to do. We can say we forgive someone but as soon as the problem presents itself again, do those emotions creep up on you like it just happened? Unforgiveness can leave us bitter. It can harden our heart and make us less sensitive to others. It’s so important to clear your conscience and not harbor bitterness inside you. Forgiveness removes a burden that you decide not to carry. It releases emotions from your body and sets you free.
