Brandon Beane updates Micah Hyde’s status from Bills training camp
The door remains open for Micah Hyde, according to Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane. The Bills GM spoke via video conference at the start of 2024 training camp. Hyde is still not present summer workouts, but it’s still an option for him as far as Beane is concerned. After lingering neck injuries, the 33-year-old safety is considering hanging it up and retiring. However, he has not officially done so yet. Beane said Hyde is “staying ready,” but it does not sound like Hyde intends on returning to football just yet. Hyde noted this offseason that if he does come back to the NFL, it will be only be in Buffalo. Meeder's Restaurant Added to NYS Historic Business Preservation Registry
State Senator George Borrello presented the New York State Historic Business award to Meeders Restaurant in Ripley to celebrate their incorporation into New York State's Historic Business Preservation Registry. Established by legislation passed in 2020, the Historic Business Registry includes businesses that have been in operation for at least 50 years and have contributed to their communities' history. Two years ago, Upper Falls resident Max Gelbert was home from Syracuse University for the winter break when Deb, a lifelong family friend, came by for a visit and showed him a stack of handmade playing cards. She was playing around with a new concept for a word game. Max’s first reaction was “no thanks,” since he’d never been very good at Scrabble and games of that ilk. She said, “No, this is something totally different. It’s very fast and is all about short simple 3- and 4-letter words.” They began playing, and he was quickly hooked.
