Pueblo West East Saxony Drive Fire
On July 28th, 2024 around 10:00 Pueblo West Fire Department was dispatched to Pueblo West Gardens at 960 E. Saxony Drive on a reported commercial structure fire. Information from Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center reported a kitchen fire that staff had attempted to control with flour. It was originally reported that evacuation was unable to be completed. Chief 805 arrived first and found the single-story assisted living facility with partial evacuation and nothing else showing. District Chief 1 arrived and took command and Engine 831 made entry with an extinguisher and tools to help check and investigate. Upon investigation it was found there was no active fire. Ladder 852 was cancelled enroute and the other units were on scene a few minutes longer checking the interior for any further hazards.
Jennifer Tareco
Dr. Jennifer Marie Tareco (nee Lindsey) of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, died on June 15, 2024, after a tragic scuba diving accident. Jennifer was born on March 23, 1966, in Florence, Colorado, to Darrell and Nancy (Singleterry) Lindsey. She graduated as valedictorian of Florence High School before earning her bachelor’s degree at Creighton University, again graduating as valedictorian . She received her medical degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She remained at Hopkins for training in orthopedic surgery and subsequently specialized in pediatric orthopedic surgery through a fellowship at NYU’s Hospital for Joint Diseases. She had four children, John James (JJ), Jesse, Julia, and Jillian. Her children were her pride and joy . She spent much of her time as a lacrosse mom, part time coach, and sideline doctor for their many sports teams. She was their biggest fan and loved them unconditionally with everything she had.

2nd arrest made in Fremont Jail escape
FREMONT, Colo. (KKTV) - Kyle Vanvliet of Canon City was arrested on Wednesday on a warrant for aiding an escape. 38-year-old Kyle Vanvliet was arrested on Wednesday. He was arrested for aiding in an escape which is a class three felony. He was booked into Fremont County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
