One-year-old child left alone for nearly 12 hours

CABELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A one-year-old child was left alone for nearly 12 hours while mom was in another apartment, falsely denying the child was hers to the police.

On July 10, 2024, at around 11:14 a.m., law enforcement officers were sent to conduct a welfare check at 826 Virginia Ave Apt. G in Huntington, Cabell County, WV. Upon arrival, officers met with the individual who reported the incident, who discovered a one-year-old child alone inside the apartment.

Eventually, officers located the mother of the child, Samone Greene, at 830 Virginia Ave Apt. L. Greene seemed to be intoxicated and falsely denied the child being hers despite the child calling her “Mommy.”

The child had been unsupervised since around 10:30 p.m. on July 9, 2024. Greene is in Western Regional Jail under a 51,150 dollar bond. She is charged with child neglect .
