Gardner Lions Club hosts pancake breakfast Sunday, Sept. 15
Aug. 30—The Gardner Lions Club is hosting a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Gardner American Legion Hall, 426 Industry Ave. Adults cost $9 and children ages five to 10 costs $5. Devan Swisher and Garrett Loschen Lead St. Joseph-Ogden Golf to Second Place Finish at Danville Country Club
Junior Devan Swisher tied for third individually (47) and sophomore Garrett Loschen was fifth (48) on Wednesday (Aug. 28), for the St. Joseph-Ogden golf team, which placed second in a three-school meet at Danville Country Club. Salt Fork (194) won team honors, followed by SJ-O (202) and Schlarman Academy (243).
Morris Theatre Guild holds auditions for Shrek, Jr.
Aug. 30—The Morris Theatre Guild is holding auditions for children ages seven to 18 to perform Shrek, Jr., a musical from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3. Morris Mayor Provides Update About New Public Works Building & Airport Expansion
Morris Mayor Chris Brown was in our studios recently providing an update about the Morris Airport and new Public Works Building. The city of Morris received a $11.7 million grant through the Rebuild Illinois Program to construct an East-West runway. Brown said the city would have to contribute around $3 million for the project, but he is looking to offset that with federal dollars.

Two California Men Arrested in Morgan Co. on Drug Trafficking Charges
Two California men were arrested Wednesday on multiple drug trafficking charges by the Illinois State Police. According to the Illinois State Police, troopers performed a traffic stop near the Ashland/Alexander exit on Interstate 72 around 10AM on Wednesday on a vehicle driven by 20-year old Jose M. Meza of Fresno, California. Troopers then performed a search of the vehicle.
