    Cabool Police: Officers work accident, incidents

    The Cabool Police Department handled calls and incidents during the past week, including one accident.

    The department reported 15 traffic stops resulting in 11 summons issued.

    At 3:55 p.m. Sunday, June 9, Gary Robert, of Willow Springs, was traveling east on U.S. 60 in a 2023 Chevrolet when he ran off the left side of the road and struck a sign while attempting to avoid another driver making a lane change, authorities said. No injuries were reported.

    In total, police handled one accident, two alarms, 10 animal complaints, one assault, two civil matters, one juvenile matter, four mental instability incidents, one peace disturbance, one stealing/theft incident, two suspicious activity incidents, assisted other agencies eight times, gave one private escort and assisted the public once.

    The fire department was dispatched 13 times.
