    Cabool sales tax revenue up in May

    Sales tax revenue collected by Cabool merchants during May was up compared to a year ago, according to the Missouri Department of Revenue.

    A one-cent general sales tax totaled $39,435.57. That’s an increase of $1,129.83 from the same period last year.

    A half-cent sales tax for transportation needs totaled $19,717.73 in the month of May. That’s up $564.77 from the same period last year.

    A use tax applied to out-of-state internet orders totaled $8,396.06 for the month. That’s up $1,220.97 from the same period last year.

    A half-cent sales tax earmarked for law enforcement totaled $13,593.23 for the month.
