Gwendolyn Irene Foster, age 82, daughter of Glen and Dorothy Parker was born April 26, 1942, in Rolla, Mo., the eldest of seven siblings. She passed away June 21, 2024, in Cabool, Mo.

Gwen grew up in Cabool, graduating from Cabool High School in 1960. She then went on to Draughon Business College in Springfield, Mo.

She met John Foster in the spring of 1962, and they were married Sept. 1, 1962. To this union Wayne and Lynn were born. They were married for 59 years before John’s passing in 2021.

After marriage the couple traveled for John’s job which took them all over the country. Some of their most talked about places they lived were Fortville, Ind., Fort Bragg, N.C., and Barboursville, W. Va. where they stayed for 10 years. They moved back to Solo, Mo. in 1977 to begin their life and chase their dream of dairy farming.

Gwen worked at Paul Evan’s Insurance, Brown Shoe Company and The Houston Herald in the mailroom. She was the ruler of the roost at Foster Jersey Farms and could be found milking cows, feeding calves or doing any number of farm chores.

Gwen was involved in the Texas County Fair Board, The Twin River Riders, Dairy women and Democrat women. She could be found at local craft shows selling her beautiful crocheted creations with her friend Louann Wetzel, baking any number of recipes in the kitchen or collecting snowmen and Home Interior “Denim Days” figurines. She loved to visit with friends and spend time with the great grand kids.

Gwen is survived by her son, Wayne (Angie) Foster of Newkirk, Okla.; granddaughters, Beth (Clay) Morgan of Ponca City, Okla. and Stephanie (Tyler) Jones of Solo, Mo.; grandson; Jonathan Foster; great-grandchildren, Piper Morgan, Colson Morgan, Adalyn Jones and Tiffany Foster; sisters, Louise Rader of Cabool, Becky (Webb) Friend of Mountain Grove, Mo., and Kathy Sloan of Cabool; along with many, many nieces and nephews and too many friends to count.

She is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Dorothy Parker. Her husband John Foster. Daughter Lynn Foster. Sister Joyce McCall and brothers Jack Parker and Kenny Parker.

Gwen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25 at Evans Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Terry Ramming officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.evansfh.com .
