CADILLAC — The Rotary Club of Cadillac recently announced it has named Greg Bock as its 2024-25 president.

Bock has been a Rotarian since 2015 in the Cheboygan club and said he is excited to make a difference in his new role.

“I’m looking forward to leading the Cadillac Rotary Club forward this year as club president,” Bock said. “Rotary has a rich history in Cadillac, having chartered a club in 1920. One can travel around our beautiful community and see the various projects that Rotarians have spearheaded that make Cadillac a fantastic place to live, work and raise a family.”

Cadillac Rotarians are members of the Cadillac Rotary Club and the cub is a member of Rotary International. Rotary International is governed by a president and board of directors elected from around the world.

The board of directors makes the final decision for the president-elect and sends it to the general membership for a vote on the upcoming open Board positions.

The Cadillac Club belongs to District 6290 which includes much of West Michigan from the Grand Rapids/Holland area north into Ontario, Canada (Wawa).

Bock said he recognizes the value that exists in community and rotary activities in Cadillac.

“From the beautiful Rotary Pavilion downtown to the Ice Arena which draws in the multitude from all over the state, to the Revitalization of Diggins Hill, Rotarians have been involved in the heartbeat of this community,” Bock said. “To have the opportunity to lead this group of passionate community leaders who seek to make a difference in the lives of those in which we live amongst in this life-changing group known as the Rotary Club of Cadillac is exciting and a responsibility I don’t take lightly.”

Cadillac’s Rotary Club has a board of directors elected by membership for a two-year term. Past presidents nominate to the board of directors the future club residents as well as members for upcoming open board positions.

Bock said he plans to lead using the ideologies the Cadillac Rotary Club operates by including the 4 Way Test which is guided by four questions: is it the truth?; is it fair to all concerned?; will it build goodwill and better friendships?; and is it beneficial to all concerned?

Bock welcomed those with a mindset for community giving to join the Rotary in its endeavors.

“Rotary Club of Cadillac has donated over $2 million to community projects through rotary charities and annual auction,” Bock said. “Being an active part of Rotary provides the foundation from which service above self becomes a reality. We invite all those who have a passion for this community, who seek to make a difference, and who are willing to work in unity for the greater good of the Cadillac area community to join us in our historic club.”
