Mayfield participating in 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign
MAYFIELD, Ky. — The city of Mayfield will participate in the national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign from Friday, Aug. 16, to Monday, Sept. 2. According to Lieutenant Trevor Webb from the Mayfield Police Department, this branch of the campaign discourages drunk driving leading up to Labor Day weekend.

Crash in Carlisle County results in charges for Bardwell man
A single-vehicle crash in Carlisle County on Wednesday led to charges for a Bardwell man. The crash happened along State Route 1591 when a pickup pulling a utility trailer rolled over. The truck came to rest against an embankment, according to the report. Three of the five people in the truck got out on their own, while two remained trapped until first responders arrived. The two were cut from the truck and flown by Air Evac to out-of-state trauma centers. Others were treated at the scene.

Charleston man sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling methamphetamine
U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. on Thursday sentenced a man who sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant to 10 years in prison. Adrian L. Lewis, 43, of Charleston, Missouri, pleaded guilty in May to one count of distribution of methamphetamine. He admitted selling two ounces of meth to a confidential informant working for the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force on Oct. 10, 2023.
