10:24 AM Officers arrested David L. Oliver, 40, Princeton on a Caldwell County arrest warrant charging him with theft of a motor vehicle registration plate and non-dealer who procured dealer plates to evade taxes. The charges stem from an investigation of a traffic stop that occurred on 05/30/2024 where Oliver was operating a motor vehicle bearing a Kentucky dealer’s plate. The investigation revealed that the dealer’s plate had been stolen from a vehicle that belonged to Allen’s Auto Sales in Christian County.

On May 30, 2024 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an injury collision on Sandlick Road approximately 7 miles south of Princeton. The investigation revealed that Robert Ridlen, 52, of Caldwell County was operating a Caldwell County Road Department truck traveling eastbound and dropped off the shoulder of the roadway. Ridlen attempted to regain control of the dump truck; however, the truck overturned and Ridlen was transported to Caldwell Medical Center by ComCare Ambulance for treatment. The collision was investigated by Deputy Stacey Blackburn who was assisted by Princeton Fire/Rescue and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Caldwell road department driver hurt when dump truck overturns
A dump truck driver with the Caldwell County Road Department was injured in a crash on Thursday. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Department said the crash happened about 7 miles south of Princeton along Sandlick Road. According to their report, the truck, driven by Robert Ridlen, slipped off of the edge of the road and overturned.
