High-speed chase leads to multiple charges for Kingston resident
A Kingston man has been charged in Caldwell County after allegedly speeding and failing to stop for law enforcement on July 13th. Thirty-year-old Jose Martinez has been charged with felonies of possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, detention, or stop by fleeing, creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to any person. He also faces misdemeanors for operating a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, exceeding the posted speed limit by 26 miles per hour or more, failing to drive on the right half of the road when the road was of sufficient width, failing to stop at a stop sign, and operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license, involving a first offense.
