Pureflight Aviation to Open Flight School at Pocatello Regional Airport
Thursday, KPVI reported about the Pocatello City Council’s approval of a lease agreement with an Oregon based flight school to open a training center in eastern Idaho. Bannock Development Corporation and the city have spent the last 18 months working to get Pureflight Aviation. LLC to open a flight school at the Pocatello Regional Airport. Pureflight Aviation started in 1983 as Precision Aviation Training and now has locations in Newberg and Klamath Falls, Oregon.

The Desert Eagles Model Airplane Flying Club’s annual community open house runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the club’s flying field near exit 113 southwest of Idaho Falls. Conflagration Act invoked for Durkee Fire in Eastern Oregon, now at 110K acres burned
Evacuations have been ordered for some Malheur County residents due to the Durkee Fire, which has grown to more than 110,000 acres burnt as of Sunday morning and 0% contained. On Saturday, Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act for the blaze, allowing the state fire marshal to mobilize its resources to help people and their property threatened by the fire.
