No Evacuation Needed After Smoke Fills Spring Valley Nursing Home's Laundry Room
A fire scare Friday morning at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Spring Valley. At about 7:10, Spring Valley, Ladd and Peru Fire Departments were called to Aperion Care on the north end of Spring Valley after the building's fire alarms were set off. Spring Valley Fire Chief Todd Bogatitus says the issue was a faulty air conditioner in the laundry room that was producing heavy smoke. The smoke was confined to the laundry room.
