Grand Rapids building damaged after suspected drunk driver crashes into it
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Two people were injured and a building was damaged during an overnight car crash in Grand Rapids. Police say it happened around 1 a.m. Friday at the corner of Godfrey Avenue and Market Avenue. A suspected drunk driver crashed into another vehicle, then crashed into the building, according to police.

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) recently held a roundtable at the Georgia Street Community Collective in Detroit to bring together thought leaders, local companies, non-profit organizations, municipal leaders and more involved in food production and distribution across the state. A key piece of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s recently signed bipartisan Fiscal Year 2025 budget is the development of the “Farm to Family” program to bring Michigan crops to family tables across the state.
Michigan Part Of Massive Deli Meat Recall Due To Listeria
Heads up Michigan, time to take a look at the lunchmeat you currently have sitting in your fridge. Boar's Head Provisions has announced a recall of more than 207,000 pounds of meat products due to potential Listeria contamination. This recall affects various pre-packaged meats, including deli meats and sausages, which were distributed nationwide.
A Skeleton Appears on the Lake Michigan Shore Every Few Years
Seventeen miles north of Muskegon on the shores of Lake Michigan lies a skeleton – a skeleton that dates all the way back to 1897. On Sylvan Beach is the home of the wreckage of The Contest; a ship that was built in Holland, Michigan in 1863. According to Wisconsinshipwrecks.org, The Contest was used for transporting dry goods and foods, cord wood, posts, stones, and railroad ties.

Kent County to vote on hotel tax increase to fund soccer stadium, entertainment
(The Center Square) – Voters in Kent County and the Grand Rapids area will vote Aug. 6 during the primary to decide whether the county can increase its hotel tax from 5% to 8%.
