The Warriors baseball squad continued its momentum going into the last week of the season.

The Warriors first won against the Chatfield Gophers on Tuesday, May 7 by a score of 15-0, then against Fillmore Central by a score of 11-1 on Thursday, May 9, and finally they would overcome St. Charles on Friday, May 10 by a score of 6-2.

The win over St. Charles — their 17th straight — puts the Warriors on top of the Three Rivers Conference with a 17-2 record and secures an already successful season. It also clinched the Three Rivers East title.

    Against Chatfield

Reid Klug took the mound for the Warriors against Chatfield and went five innings, giving up no runs on five hits and striking out three. Caledonia got started on offense from the very beginning, scoring one run in the top of the first, and then six runs in the second and eight runs in the fourth. The game was called after five innings via the 15-run rule.

Top hitters for the Warriors included Drew Yahnke going 2 for 3 and driving in four runs, Ben Stemper going 2 for 3 and driving in two, and Garrett Konz, Owen Denstad, and Reid Klug picking up one hit each to add to the offense.

    Against Fillmore Central

Drew Yahnke slung it for the Warriors against the Falcons. Yahnke went the entire game only allowing one run on two hits, while striking out seven.

The scoring was consistent for the Warriors in this game, as they only failed to produce in the third inning. The game ended in the sixth inning, due to the 10-run rule with a score of 11-1 and a Warriors win.

Top hitters for this game were Tanner Ginther, who went 3 for 5 with 2 RBIs, Garrett Konz, who went 2 for 2 with four runs batted in, and Ben Stemper who went 2 for 3 with three runs batted in.

The seniors were also honored before the game for their final season: Drew Yahnke, Owen Denstad, Hunter Goetzinger, Michael Colleran and manager Jessie Johnson.

    Against St. Charles

The final game of the week saw Landon O’Heron on the mound. He would go 6⅔ innings and surrender two runs on seven hits, but also strike out eight in the game.

Garrett Konz came on in relief in the seventh to secure the win. The Warriors had control for all innings of the game except for the seventh. With the score 6-0 going into the final inning, St. Charles rallied a small comeback, but it was not enough to overcome the red hot Warriors.

The top hitter for this game was Garrett Konz, who went 2 for 4 and drove in three runs. Tanner Ginther, Owen Denstad, and Landon O’Heron all had one hit a piece to help the campaign.

Next up for the Warriors was another rendezvous with Winona Cotter on Tuesday, May 14, and then Lewiston Altura on Friday, May 17.
