The Caledonia Warriors baseball squad finished out its regular season with wins against both Winona Cotter and Lewiston-Altura to finish the season with a 19-1 record on a 19-game win streak, earning the No. 1 seed in the section tournament.
The Warriors won against Cotter 2-0 on Tuesday, May 14, and beat Lewiston-Altura by a score of 6-0 on Friday, May 17.
Against Winona Cotter
Against Winona Cotter, Garrett Konz took the mound and threw a complete game one hit shutout for the fans in attendance. He also struck out seven in the game as well. Cotter was a very tough win with little going on offensively for both sides. The Warriors were able to score runs in the bottom of the first and the bottom of the sixth off of six hits in the game, but that was the extent of the offense that afternoon. Warriors would go on to win by a score of 2-0 in seven innings.
Top hitters for the game include Ben Stemper who went 1-3 with one RBI off a triple in the bottom of the first, Hunter Goetzinger would go 2 for 3, and Will Allen and Landon O’Heron would both have a hit a piece for the Warriors.
Against Lewiston-Altura
Reid Klug who would get the nod for the Warriors against Lewiston-Altura, and he would deliver the second complete game shutout for the Warriors in two games. Klug would allow only one hit and fan 8 in the outing.
Bats were consistent throughout the game scoring in each of the first four innings, and have eight hits total in the contest. Ben Stemper would put the Warriors on the board in the bottom of the first again off of a single, and the Warriors wouldn't look back for the rest of the game. Caledonia would go on to beat Lewiston-Altura by a score of 6-0.
Top hitters for the game include Ben Stemper going 3 for three with one RBI, Reid Klug would help his own campaign going 2 for 3 with two RBI, and Will Allen, Hunter Goetzinger and Garrett Konz all having one hit each as well.

Caledonia was able to secure the No. 1 seed in the section tournament and also secured a bye for the first round.
Caledonia's first game in the tournament will take place on Saturday, May 25 at home against the winner of Cannon Falls and Chatfield. That game will be earlier in the day than they normally play, starting at 1 p.m.
