The Caledonia Area Warriors softball squad won three games in the last week of its regular season to end with an 18-2 record, locking up the No. 2 seed for the section tournament.

On Tuesday, May 14 the Lady Warriors beat Winona Cotter by score 12-1 for some redemption for their season opener. Thursday, May 16 the Warriors felled Lewiston-Altura by a score of 11-1, and finally the rounded out the season by beating Fillmore Central in four innings by score is 18-2.

    Against Winona Cotter

The Warriors once again sent Braelyn Lange to the circle for another round against the tough Cotter team. The outcome was much different than the season opener, with Lange going all 5 innings while only allowing three hits, one run and striking out seven.

The early innings saw little action after Elsa Blum doubled in the first inning scoring one run. The score would stalemate until the 4th inning when Paizely Lange homered to center field for two runs and Vivianne Kittleson immediately followed it up with a solo shot to center field, making the score 4-0. A passed ball would drive in another run making the score 5-0 after four innings.

The girls would once again explode in the bottom of the fifth which was highlighted by an Annah Anderson grand slam to left field, and an Avery Augedahl home run to center field scoring two to seal the win by a score of 12-1 in five innings.

Elisa Blum, Vivianne Kittleson, Annah Anderson and Aubrie Klug all had two hits for the Warriors with Avery Augedahl, Adriennee Lange, Kennedy Hansen and Paizley Lang with one hit as well.

    Against Lewiston-Altura

Braelyn Lange got the call again against Lewiston-Altura and she would not waste the opportunity, going all 5 innings and only allowing three hits and one run while striking out nine in the game.

This contest was also fairly one-sided, as the Warriors' bats came alive once again. The ladies would score ten runs in the top of the first inning off a slew of hits throughout the lineup. The Warriors would rack up 12 hits in this contest as well. Lewiston-Altura would score in the bottom of the first but would not plate another run that day. Adrienne Lange would double in the 5th inning scoring one run to make it 11-1, and that's all the Warriors would need to seal the win in the 6th.

Top hitters would include Adrienne Lange going 3-3, and Avery Augedahl, Braelyn Lange, and Paizley Lange with 2 hits each.

    Against Fillmore Central

The Warriors would continue their dominance against the Falcons as well, winning by a score of 18-2 in 4 innings. Avery Augedahl would start for the Warriors, going all four innings allowing six hits with two runs, and striking out nine in the game.

The Lady Warriors would score in each of the four innings, with their largest advance coming in the third inning. They would also rack up 16 hits in the game, and only allow the Falcons to score in the third with two runs. The game would end in at the bottom of the fourth with a score of 18-2.

Paizley Lange had an amazing day going 4 for four with two home runs and driving in four. Elsa Blum also had a great day going 3 for four while driving in five. Avery Augedahl, Adrienne Lange, and Kennedy Hanson would also tack on two hits as well.

With this last win the Warriors would clinch the Three Rivers East Conference Championship, and would end up with the number two seed for the Section tournament.

The Warriors will be facing off against Lake City at home on Monday, May 20 at 5 p.m. for the first game of the tournament.
