Aberdeen teen arrested for reportedly fleeing Amory police
AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – An Aberdeen teenager was arrested after allegedly running away from police. Amory police arrested 18-year-old Anthony Joaquinn Orr and charged him with felony fleeing and eluding in a motor vehicle. Orr’s bond was set at $10,000 by Monroe County Justice Court Judge Brandon Davis.
MSU Supplemental Instruction gains reaccreditation, helps students succeed in challenging courses
STARKVILLE, Miss.—A Mississippi State program that helps students achieve classroom success is receiving reaccreditation for a three-year period. One of less than 65 accredited Supplemental Instruction programs in the U.S., one of four in the Southeastern Conference and the only one in Mississippi, MSU’s SI program is free for students and designed to increase academic success in course students may find challenging. It is directed by MSU’s Center for Academic Excellence.

‘Star chamber’: Joint motion seeks to seal Tim Herrington’s capital murder case
A joint effort to seal filings in the case against a former Ole Miss student accused of slaying Jimmie “Jay” Lee is very unusual, a legal expert told Mississippi Today. The petition states that due to “significant” media coverage, the only way Sheldon Timothy Herrington Jr.’s right to a fair trial will be secured is if the judge agrees to seal all pretrial documents, including docket entries, motions, exhibits, subpoenas and notices.
