Grafton and Shiloh, Other Area Communities Hit Hard by Severe Rainfall
GRAFTON/SHILOH - The Metro Illinois region and Jersey and Calhoun Counties experienced substantial rainfall over the past 24 hours, with several areas reporting significant accumulations and ongoing flash flood warnings. The heaviest rainfall was recorded in Shiloh, where 6.85 inches fell and Grafton, with an estimated 5 to 7 inches fell contributing to widespread concerns about flooding.
Joe Page Bridge Shut Down Due to Fallen Tree
UPDATE 2:30PM: The Joe Page Bridge has reopened to regular traffic. The Joe Page Bridge in Hardin has been shut down today. According to a Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department report, the bridge has been struck by a large tree on the Greene County side of the bridge that may have caused damage to the bridge.
Kane Man Arrested For Alleged Threats To Calhoun Sheriff’s Department Members While On Pretrial Release
A southern Greene County man is now behind bars after multiple arrests by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department. According to a press release, on May 6th, Calhoun County deputies conducted a traffic stop which resulted in the arrest of 27-year old Kevin J. Patton of Kane for possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine. According to online court records, Patton failed to appear at a June 4th pretrial hearing. He was subsequently arrested on a bench warrant by Calhoun deputies on June 13th.
