Anniston’s Third Thursday Event to Feature Cut Flowers Program with Lucy Edwards

Hosted by Anniston Museums and Gardens, this special program, taking place on Thursday, May 16th from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, promises an enriching experience for gardening enthusiasts of all levels.

Joining the Longleaf Botanical Gardens for this captivating event is none other than Chilton County Extension Coordinator, Lucy Edwards. With her wealth of knowledge and experience, Lucy will guide attendees through the intricacies of cut flower gardening, sharing insights into her own journey—the triumphs, the challenges, and everything in between.

Designed especially for beginner gardeners with a passion for flowers, Lucy’s presentation will inspire and empower participants to incorporate cut flowers into their landscape beds and vegetable gardens. Drawing from her background as a Regional Horticulture Agent and her deep-rooted love for horticulture, Lucy will offer practical tips and expert advice to help attendees cultivate thriving and sustainable gardens at home.

A native of north Alabama, Lucy’s connection to the land runs deep, instilled in her by her parents, both avid foresters. With a background in Ornamental Horticulture from Auburn University, Lucy’s passion for gardening shines through in her engaging and informative presentations.

Attendees of May’s Third Thursday program are encouraged to bring their own lunch to enjoy during the event, with water provided for refreshment. Admission to Third Thursday programs is $5 per person, with free entry for AM&G Members. Pre-registration is encouraged to secure your spot for this enlightening program.
