Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Grand Opening of Southern Immediate Care at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston

Anniston, AL – Southern Immediate Care and RMC Health System have officially launched their new urgent care partnership at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston. The grand opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitor Center, on September 24, 2024.

Located in the former emergency room at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital, Southern Immediate Care’s newest clinic is the seventh in its growing network of urgent care centers. This addition reflects the commitment to providing accessible healthcare for the Anniston community. The clinic is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, and welcomes walk-ins, with appointments available through the Southern Immediate Care website.

“We are excited for this cooperative effort to provide accessible care to our community at RMC’s Stringfellow Campus,” Southern Immediate Care stated. The clinic will offer treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, onsite X-rays for immediate injury assessments, physicals, and lab testing.

This new chapter follows an earlier report from July 2024 by The Calhoun Journal , which announced the closure of Stringfellow’s emergency room and other services, and the plan to establish an urgent care facility in the vacant space. Now, with Southern Immediate Care’s presence, the partnership aims to fill the gap in local healthcare access and the goal is to ensure that quality medical services remain available to the Anniston community.
