The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is hosting an event with Dolly Parton and her Imagination Library team at 11 am, Tuesday, August 27 in Kansas City. Missouri governor fills judicial vacancies in 21st and 22nd circuits
Governor Mike Parson has announced the appointment of two new judges to serve in the 21st and 22nd Judicial Circuits. The Honorable Lorne J. Baker, from University City, has been appointed as a Circuit Judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit. Judge Baker is currently serving as an associate circuit judge within the same circuit. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Columbia. This appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of the Honorable Joseph L. Walsh III.
Missouri prisoners wait 1 year on average for court-ordered mental health treatment
The number of people languishing in Missouri jails in need of court-ordered mental health treatment currently stands at 344 — and the wait time for a hospital bed averages one year. This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department crime reports. Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Kentucky Avenue in reference to a domestic incident on Saturday night.
