Bootheel man accused of Columbia shooting with injuries is scheduled for October trial
One of three people arrested for their part in a shooting in downtown Columbia is scheduled for trial. Kalvin Johnson, 20, of Sikeston, was scheduled Monday for a jury trial to begin October 1. Chyler Hughes had never seen a Black missionary. At church, she learned to minister in her local community, but no one ever talked about international missions. The concept entered her world when she left Kentucky and enrolled at Lincoln University, a historically Black university in Jefferson City, Mo. She learned about international missions by attending Rooted, a collegiate ministry of Soma Community Church.
