    Closing Day for Tahoe Resorts

It’s officially spring time in the Northern Hemisphere, and that means longer days, spring skiing, and the inevitable misery that is the end of ski season…until next year.

However, March has been kind to California with more snow on the way.

Some resorts, like Palisades Tahoe, have seen over 11 feet of snow this month, so it’s not time for seasonal depression just yet. But it is time to maybe start planning those last ski trips of the year and breaking out the silly costumes for spring skiing.

Kirkwood recently announced that they are pushing back the closing date until Sunday April, 28. Open Snow is projecting 36 inches in the next five days for them after getting blasted with 22 inches in the last five days.

Homewood and Tahoe Donner are scheduled to shut down for the summer on April 7.

Boreal, Diamond Peak, and Sierra at Tahoe are looking at an April 21 closing date, and Mt. Rose, Northstar, and Sugar Bowl are expecting April 28.

Depending on the forecast, we may see Palisades for another 4th of July ski weekend, but for now they are planning on May 27 being their final day .
