Man's best friend, bear's worst enemy. Dogs, especially smaller ones, have a disturbing amount of confidence when it comes to wild animal interactions. It must be all of the day dreaming that they do while sleeping on their dog beds that equips our four-legged friends to think they have a chance against apex predators. In their defense, puppers usually hold their own when they take on animals that are much larger than them. Look no further than this video of a
weiner dog squaring up with a moose , or this classic Florida clip of a well-fed good boy that bravely chased off an alligator . You might not think your dog is capable of much more than chasing a tennis ball, but you'd likely be surprised how far they are willing to go to protect their owners and their home. This French bull dog should have been scared to death when it saw two black bears intruding a home's fenced in porch. How'd they get in there? Who's to say, though I can tell you how they got out of the area adjacent to the home - we'll just call it a "Yappy Dog Bear Removal Service." These bears were shocked to see a fur-ball blazing down the stairs beelining right towards them. They could have easily handled the small dog, especially if they worked together, but the Frenchie had the element of surprise on its side. Though then you wonder... how long can the element of surprise last? The answer to that question, at least in this clip, is long enough for the fun-sized bull dog to chase not one, but TWO bears away from the house. One of the bears tried to retaliate initially, though it was clearly thinking, "What the hell is this thing?" as it backed away and eventually ran off. As for the other bear, it was stuck between the fence and the Frenchie (I guess the alternative to a rock and hard place), so it opted to run up the stairs. That decision didn't bode well, since it basically cornered itself and allowed for the yappy dog to get a running start up the stairs right at it. Hilariously, the end of the video shows the French bull dog biting at the bear's butt as it runs back down the stairs looking for an expedited exit. This is one of those situations where the bark is just as impressive as the bite, even though it shouldn't be. On paper, this matchup should have easily gone to the bears. But remember... it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eLX_Kg0BAU
