Gavin Newsom Wrecks Elon Musk With Absolutely Brutal Quote From Trump About Billionaire

California Governor Gavin Newsom showed his willingness to hit back at political foes, which has long endeared him to Democrats concerned with President Joe Biden’s ability to articulate why former President Donald Trump is a pernicious force in America. He used an old insult from Trump to mock billionaire Elon Musk.

Musk announced Tuesday that he would be relocating the headquarters of SpaceX and X (formerly Twitter) from California to Austin, Texas, where his Tesla electric car operations are headquartered, due to a new trans rights law Gov. Newsom signed into law. The new law made California the first state to ban public schools from notifying parents of pronoun changes by students.

“This is the final straw,” Musk wrote on X, adding, “Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.” Musk added in a follow-up post, “And 𝕏 HQ will move to Austin” from its longtime hometown of San Francisco.

Musk commented while sharing another post on X lamenting a new law signed by Newsom on Monday. “So the state is the parent in California now,” wrote the user, sharing an angry post from anti-LGBTQ activist “Libs of TikTok,” who urged her followers to “Get your kids out of public schools.”

Newsom didn’t take Musk’s dramatic announcement lying down and dug up an old Truth Social insult from Trump to hang a lantern on how the Tesla/SpaceX/X owner once was derided by the former president.

In July of 2022, Trump posted a photo of Musk visiting Trump in the Oval Office, with a message that read ‘When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he’d be worthless, and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, “drop to your knees and beg,” and he would have done it…”

Newsom shared a screengrab of that message, adding “You bent the knee.”
