Does In-N-Out really have a "secret" menu item?

That seems to be the question on everyone's mind after an Instagram post spilling misinformation about the beloved burger chain went viral on social media. According to KTLA , the account "@hungryhotline" claimed that In-N-Out customers could order the chain's secret "Monkey Style" burger topped with animal fries, chopped chili, and mustard.

People, including current and former employees, immediately took to the comment section of the post to debunk the myth of the "Monkey Style" burger stating:

"I wish y’all would stop posting this [because In-N-Out] will never have this. I worked there for 5 years and it’s so annoying when people post viral videos like this and there’s an influx of people asking for [it]."

The post, which ended up reaching over four-and-a-half million people, also gained the attention of In-N-Out Burger owner Lynsi Snyder who took it upon herself to set the record straight, commenting a raised eyebrow and thumbs down emoji.

KTLA mentioned that an influx of customers have asked for the "Monkey Style" burger after seeing this exact post and were told that the menu item simply does not exist. This is not the first time the internet has been in an uproar over the mythical menu item. Rumors date back as far as 2013 when word of the "Monkey Style" burger first took off. Even then, chain executives had to work overtime to silence assumptions, assuring the world that there is no such thing as a "Monkey Style" burger at In-N-Out.
