    Top Chinese Restaurants in Fremont

    2021-03-30

Those who live outside the state of California may not be aware of all the fantastic culinary options available in the city of Fremont. Though they may not be packed in as tightly as in Chinatown in San Francisco, Fremont boasts many wonderful Chinese restaurants that are worth a visit to this city just south of the bay. Whether you are a local or you are new to the area, carve out some time to pay a visit to a few of my favorite places. Keep reading to learn more about the best Chinese food in Fremont.

    Teo Chow Noodle Shack

Located on Cushing Parkway, this noodle shack was re-established by a husband and wife team back in 2015 with the goal of catering to new generations of diners. When I visit, I like to start out with a jasmine milk tea and an order of their chicken wings. They have a wide variety of noodles types and toppings to accompany them. Rather than spend time choosing between mai fun or cho mein, ground beef or bean sprouts, just cut to the chase and order the Ultimate Bowl. It has a little bit of everything and is one of the restaurant’s best sellers. But honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their noodle dishes here. There's a reason why it's so popular and so many reviews online. Definitely a fan favorite in Fremont.

What I recommend: ultimate bowl and some chicken wings

Friends don’t let friends eat dim sum alone! Grab a group of your pals and head to BK’s Bistro. Open seven days a week and located on Stevenson Street, this is a great spot to gather and share steamed barbecue pork buns or lotus leaf wrapped stick rice and chicken. If you happen to be brave enough, I suggest giving the jelly fish a try. I love this dim sum spot as a kid and I still come back every so often because their dim sum is pretty good quality and the price for each dish is very reasonable. As you and your crew indulge in the tasty small plates, don’t forget to save room for dessert. BK’s offerings include deep fried sesame balls and steamed taro buns.

What I recommend: BBQ pork buns, siu mai, shrimp dumplings

    Tasty Chinese Kitchen

The name says it all. This location on Newpark Mall Road is as tasty as they come. They do a phenomenal job of taking the classic dishes that I love and giving them a bit of modern flare. To start out, I recommended the fried crab cheese or egg flower soup as an appetizer. For a main dish, I suggest the ginger and green onion beef. If you have any entertaining to do, give your home kitchen the night off and consider ordering one of their small party trays.

What I recommend: egg flower soup & mat dishes

Location: 5576 Newpark Mall Newark, CA 94560

Those who do not live in our state may have no idea of the options they are missing out on. Any one of the above restaurants will make for a great night out with friends, a quick bite out during the week, or a go-to for catering a large party. Of course, there is nothing stopping you from eating your way across the bay area to find out which restaurants are the best of the bunch, but if you do not have this kind of time, I was happy to sample them for you. Try one of the above establishments, and I promise your experience will certainly be a tasty one.
