In a city that is as large as Los Angeles, you are going to have some ups and downs. Those downs include such things as traffic and pollution. As for the ups, Los Angeles boasts a thriving, diverse culinary scene to rival any city in the world. Their Japanese Restaurant offerings are not just some of the best in the state of California but possibly in the whole United States. Anyone who plans to spend some time in the area must make sure to give the tasty Japanese fare a try. I had to write a second article about the delicious Japanese restaurants in Los Angeles because one just wouldn't do it. I've discovered so many good Japanese food spots that I had to share more. Read on as I continue my list of the best restaurants for Japanese food.
With multiple locations throughout the city of Los Angeles, KazuNori is known as The Original Hand Roll Bar and is one of my most recommended places to out of towners. They choose only the best specialty seaweed and serve their signature warm rice. They offer all of the traditional hand roll favorites from salmon sashimi to bay scallops and it is some of the freshest fish I have ever experienced in my life. Rather than make the tough decision as to which hand roll to choose from, I just order the 3-hand roll set. It comes with a salmon hand roll, bay scallop hand roll, and a crab hand roll. They even sell a hand roll kit for those who would like to try to recreate their offerings in the comfort of their own home, which is perfect because I bought a ton to store in my freezer and last for a few weeks.
What I recommend: Any of the hand rolls but salmon sashimi is the best
With their first restaurant opening back in 1992, Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata Ramen now has locations in both Los Angeles and Orange County. For any fans of spicy food, this place has you covered with their spicy ramen offerings. I recommend coming with some friends and ordering their shabu-shabu hot pot. They serve prime beef and pork belly with their ponzu and sesame dipping sauces, and it is perfect for sharing. Of course, their sushi and udon noodles offerings are also worth the visit. If I had to choose a bowl of ramen, it would have to be the spicy miso ramen. I love the broth, the miso flavoring, and the spice is not overpowering so there's a kick but you can also feel your mouth aftewards.
What I recommend: Spicy miso ramen or the shabu-shabu hot pot
Though it is true that most of these restaurants have something for everyone. Yuko Kitchen has taken that to another level. When I go, I treat myself to one of their refreshing strawberry soda boba drinks. For a main course, they have everything from sushi to noodles. I recommend their garlic shrimp rice bowl. They also have plenty of gluten free options. When it comes to dessert, make sure you have saved some room. They offer a variety of cookies that you certainly will not want to miss.
What I recommend: garlic shrimp rice bowl

Though Los Angeles may have its traffic, offering some of the best Japanese food around may just make up for a lot of it. From sushi to rolls to noodle, Japanese food has a lot more offerings than most people may be familiar with. If you are in the mood to try something new, I highly encourage you to give any of the above places a try. They are sure to deliver a high-quality meal that will make you want to visit them again.
